Sorrento and Hillarys, North Perth

North Perth

This area includes suburbs with GP Jobs in such areas as Beechboro, Midland, Alexander Heights, Joondalup  and, further up the coast, Mindarie

There are many great places to live in this part of the city but be aware that northern Perth is pretty expensive these days. Further out, it gets less expensive but of course you’re that bit further away from the centre.

If you’re looking to work in Midland or Beechboro area, then you could look at Mundaring, about 12 miles east.

Travel is pretty straightforward with buses and trains running north / south

There are some nice places around. The beaches of course (Sorrento is a great beach suburb). Hillarys with its marina. Kings Park on the northern bank of the Swan River, the river itself with its sailing clubs and close to the city, Cottesloe Beach. If you’d like to try surfing, Scarborough beach with year round surf. Further afield is Whiteman Park with lost of things to see & do from a motor museum to wildlife.  For a more adventurous day out, try Nambung National Park with the Pinnacles Desert and some fab sunrises and sunsets

More information: apart from the ubiquitous Google maps (use Streetview – the little orange man by the scale bar – to look around the area) and Wikipedia, these two sites might help with more information. Not all areas are covered of course and there’s no guarantee on the quality of information. Still it might be helpful in helping you to find the best place to be:

The service I received from both Paul in the UK and from Monique and Martina in Australia was excellent. Initially I mainly was in contact with Paul whilst I was getting organised with registration which he helped with. He was extremely patient in answering all my questions. When I first arrived in Newcastle I was really pleased that Martina came to meet me there whilst she was visiting New South Wales (despite being based in Melbourne) and took me to my practice to meet everyone. I found this particularly helpful as I moved out here on my own knowing no-one so I was grateful to meet a friendly face. I’ve been here 5 months now and its definitely been one of the best things I’ve ever done.
