In between times, here are the new GP jobs in Australia that have come in:

Update on 8th May 2012:

We’ve got two jobs in rural Western Australia. They are about 3 to 3.5 hrs drive inland from Perth in the wheat belt.

Permanent GPs who move to these areas qualify for lots of government incentives.

If a doctor qualified for most of them, had a procedural skill (anaesthetics/obstetrics…), while working 8 sessions a week they could earn at least $380K, but it would probably be a lot more because this doesn’t take into account payment for on call work…

Few details:

·        Mixed billing

·        They usually pay a daily rate as the doctors have to travel to other sites most days of the week

·        One of the locations has an ongoing vacancy from May 7, the other from June 5.

·         This is a solo practice, which is part of the hospital in a small town in the Wheat Belt.  Rate of pay is flexible, it just depends on a few things– whether you are on call, how long you commit to, any procedural skills etc.  But to give you a rough figure it would be around $1,300 – $1,700 a day plus any government incentives. The client will provide a house and car – there is a little travel required out to other sites.  The position requires 8 sessions of work a week.
