Campbelltown
This is an outer suburb of Sydney on the south side – about 30 miles from the centre of Sydney. Population is about 150,000. Local population isn’t as wealthy as other areas of Sydney but it by no means poor.
There are good sports facilities – rugby, cricket, soccer and athletics.
Good train and motorway links into Sydney.
It is more ethnically mixed than other areas: Country of birth statistics: Australian born – 69%. England 4.3%. New Zealand – 2.5%. There is also a significant minority of Arabic speakers and a higher than average number of people with Aboriginal background.
More information: apart from the ubiquitous Google maps (use Streetview – the little orange man by the scale bar – to look around the area) and Wikipedia, these two sites might help with more information. Not all areas are covered of course and there’s no guarantee on the quality of information. Still it might be helpful in helping you to find the best place to be:
