Australian Work Visa Update

The Australian Department of Health and Ageing has sent out a bulletin highlighting potential skilled migration list changes.  GPs are not on this “potential changes list”, so they should remain on the Medium and Long Term Shortage Occupation List (MLTSOL) through to at least January 2019.  I.E. GPs should still be able to get 4 year / renewable visas with the option to apply for PR. However, the DoHA can change these lists whenever they want to but it is unlikely that they will do so until the next scheduled review – January 2019

N.B. The two medical occupations which have been highlighted to move are anaesthetists and dentists – flagged to move from the Short Term list to Regional Occupation List

Myself & my family owe you & Monique a big thank you for getting us to Australia! We have now been here 3 months & loving it! It really is an awesome country. I have now been working as a GP in a health centre just north of Brisbane & really enjoy the job. A welcome change from my job in Glasgow. As you are aware Paul our journey to Oz was not easy & it took us over a year to get here. However your help, advice & support made it possible. I had many obstacles to overcome but you were always there with a email full of advice or a phone call to support me. Monique has also been amazing with all her support before we arrived & especially since we arrived in Australia. The road to Australia as a GP is not an easy one but it was made much more bearable with your support & advice. I honestly think without you we would have given up our dream. I now feel that you & Monique have become my friends & are much more than recruitment agents to me. Again a huge thank you again from myself & my family for helping us to get here & live our dream.
